fatto gatto racing, in addition to trading in BOSS Series cars, also provides a formula car inspection service which is available in North America and Western Europe. Purchasing a car of the caliber of most of the BOSS Series cars can be a daunting task at best. At worst, the potential risks for not receiving what you thought you were to receive can be disastrous, both to the pocketbook and possibly to one's safety. While it is hoped all sellers are above-board and will fully, and honestly, disclose the true nature and condition of their cars, we know this is unfortunately not the case. We all know those who have been sorely disappointed upon receipt of their new toy. As these cars represent a major investment in both time and money to the racer it is essential some type of protection from this disappointment be available. The typical distances involved, and international complications, often make seeking redress through the courts impractical.
While it is impossible to fully protect oneself from an unscrupulous seller, a thorough and detailed inspection provides the most reasonable protection relative to cost. Obviously, the best method is to actually visit the seller with a mechanic familiar with the particular car, conduct a full running track inspection, including driving the car, make the deal and pay for the car on the spot, take possession at that time, and stay with the car all the way through delivery to one's shop. This is just as obviously totally out of the question for the vast majority of us. One method of avoiding such requirements is to purchase the car from one of the established concerns specializing in these cars. Most of these businesses realize their reputations are the most valuable things they have and act accordingly.
However, what does one do when the "find of the year" is made? An individual many miles (a continent?) away has your ideal machine, is selling it way below value (#1 warning sign!!!) and you just have to have it. But, you cannot take the time off work or afford the travel to inspect the car. A competent and complete inspection might be the answer. This is especially true when one considers the expense of the inspection could easily be offset by the savings provided by the decision not to buy a car. Such an inspection also provides the buyer with a sense of security in that he has much more information upon which to make his decision regarding a certain car.
fatto gatto racing can provide a full and detailed inspection of a potential purchase for cars located in North America (including Canada and Mexico) and Western Europe. This inspection consists of a personal visit to the seller (not contracted out), a thorough inspection of the car, its documentation, and an accounting of the listed spares available. A complete report, including digital pictures of all areas of the car and spares will be provided detailing the condition of the car and its spares. This report will be the sole property of the potential buyer and will not be shared with the seller or any other potential customers. Recommendations as to whether the car should or should not be purchased will not be made for obvious reasons. Nor will any guarantee of suitability or reliability of the car be made. While such a report can not insure the seller will not change the car or spares between the time of inspection and delivery, it will demonstrate the condition of the car and spares available and provide an idea of the type of ownership and the seller's care of the car. It could also provide a basis for any legal action should the need arise. Sample Report
The cost of this inspection varies depending on location. The basic cost is $400.00 per day. If the car is located near a major United States airport the inspection should take no more than 1 day. International inspections will a require a minimum of 2 days if the car is located near a major air terminal, and three (or more) days if further international travel is required. Exact quotes will be provided upon application. The timing of the inspection must be fluid, depending upon individual schedules and the availability of the car for inspection.
